Essential Gay & Lesbian Directory Partners with Pride Card Services

(West Hollywood, CA) – Pride Card Services, an industry-leading gay-owned and operated payment processing company, is proud to announce that they have been chosen as the preferred provider for The Essential Gay & Lesbian Directory.
The partnership will benefit both organizations, as well as the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered (LGBT) community. For every new merchant that signs with Pride Card Services, the firm donates $250 to an LGBT charity. Each month thereafter, Pride Card Services donates up to 20% of the net income it earns on that merchant’s account. And because the merchant’s processing costs are reduced by 10% to 20%—thanks to a quick and easy approval process, lack of hidden fees, and experienced, knowledgeable staff—both merchants and the community come out ahead.
The Essential Gay & Lesbian Directory will use Pride Card Services for its own payment processing services, and it will promote Pride Card Services to its base of LGBT-owned and LGBT-friendly businesses.
“Pride Card Services represents an incredible opportunity,” said Tom Adler, Owner of The Essential Gay & Lesbian Directory. “Businesses will save money on credit card processing fees and support our community at the same time. I’ve been impressed by this company from the beginning, and I’m thrilled at the potential this partnership will bring.”

Even Being Pro-life is a Choice

I started on the pill when I was 16. I wasn’t sexually active with guys yet but my periods were erratic and one of the benefits of the pill is helping make your periods occur on a more consistent basis. Everything was going fine until the summer after I turned 17 and unfortunately, I started feeling some unwanted side effects of using the particular pill I was using. I talked to my doctor and we both agreed that I should start taking a different prescription. The only downside is that I have to wait a little while so that the old prescription works its way out of my system.

Sometimes America Needs to be Forced to do What's Right

This may sound archaic but I actually read the newspaper. The first thing I usually do is go to what the local paper calls the “Public Pulse”. It is the section where the readers can write in and speak their minds on stories from the news or anything really. Well I have been waiting over a month to read the responses to President Obama making his statement in support of same-sex marriage. I live in West Michigan and while it is moving more toward the middle it is still a very conservative part of the country, so you can imagine what kind of things would be said in these letters.

Walking Hand in Hand into the Future

After my sweetie went off to work and I got the girls their breakfast and put them in their room so that they could play, I sat down to see what was new in the world of news. What I came across was a story out of Colorado Springs. The story is about how multiple members of the Palmer High School’s yearbook staff ended up quitting over being forced to remove a picture from their “relationships” page. The picture in question was of a lesbian couple holding hands while walking down the hall. You can read the story here. The link has an additional link to the local news coverage and video that shows the picture in question.

Rush Limbaugh and the First Amendment

For those living under a rock for the last week, Rush Limbaugh is in hot water over a three day tirade on his radio show where he called Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke a “slut”, among other things. This all started because Ms. Fluke wanted to talk to Congress as part of a panel on whether or not contraceptive should be paid for by insurance companies, even if the company they work for is against it on moral grounds. As a result of the three day assault, several of Rush’s sponsors pulled out, causing Rush to issue an “apology” and for some of his detractors to mobilize to try and get him off the air. The whole fiasco also has his supporters screaming about his First Amendment rights and quite frankly they are wrong to do so. The truth is that this has nothing to do with the First Amendment.

Bullying and How it Has Changed

I was never bullied in school. I suppose I was a lucky one because it was always easy for me to make friends and because I was so friendly, I usually had friends and a bunch of different groups. I did take it upon myself to befriend some girls that were being bullied though and we all still chat from time to time and they thank me quite a bit for helping them get through school. Unfortunately, there is a problem with bullying in this country and some of these kids decide that they can’t take it anymore and decide to end their own lives.

An introduction

Even though I have already posted several articles I figured it would probably be a good idea to introduce myself and explain what this blog is going to be about.
